Miserably Hot in Mid-Atlantic? There’s a Reason for That.

High heat index values continued across parts of the Mid Atlantic today with heat index (feels like temperatures) above 100 for many locations. A front, fortunately, is expected to bring some relief by this weekend.

I grew up in Baltimore many many years ago, so I remember the sweltering heat periods. And I’m aware Baltimore has been very hot for the past week or so.

Note that the last TEN MONTHS have been the hottest on record for much of the southwestern US. I want to note again that I feel the southwest US is getting a disproportiate amount of global warming. Arizona and Southern California have warmed up considerably more than most of the eastern two thirds of the United States.
